We’ve rounded up the best Christmas dog treat recipes
If you’re anything like us, our pup is part of our family and just has to be included in the celebrations. He has a stocking and toys but the treats have to be the most important bit! We love our human festive treats and whilst there are many you can buy in the shops they can be very expensive and often overly processed. We thought we would have a look and find some great Christmas dog treat recipes and share them with you!
Pawlife have conjured up some scrummy sweet potato and bacon dog treats. They sound good enough for us to eat too! They contain a handful of ingredients all of which you will recognize and I am sure will have in the cupboard. They also used Christmas cookie cutters to make them feel a bit more festive.
You’ll also find another great recipe on their page for some Tuna dog treats. I think Ari would love these, he really enjoys eating fish so these could be a winner!
You can’t get much more of a Christmassy flavour than cranberry can you? Now your pup can join in with this great flavour too. Top Dog Tips have created a simple recipe, all you need to do is throw all the ingredients in to a bowl, mix it together and then roll it out; ready to use your cookie cutters on.
We are loving these candy cane shaped dog treats! They contain all-natural ingredients unlike many store bought options. You could also try using green food colouring to make a red and green option. They would also make a great gift for a doggy friend. We think we might be gifting some of these this year!
These treats look absolutely adorable! Making them is the easy part, however the decorating requires some skill. I am not sure we are quite up to the task but we would love to have a go! Popping a few of these in a cellophane bag would make a great gift too.
As always let us know if you give any of them a try! You can see some of our other round ups of dog treat recipes including our favourite peanut butter dog treats. We will be getting the mixing bowls out soon and have a go and making some treats for the pup so keep your eyes peeled!
