Today we’re finally heading off on a proper holiday! For the first time in about 5 years we are going away for over a week, and we cannot wait. We are heading down to the South West and doing a mini tour, with Ari in tow.
I keep telling him we are going to the beach, but I don’t think he has quite grasped the meaning of the word yet. I think the only way for him to get it is if we spend more time at the beach…. what a shame!
I haven’t packed yet, and to be honest I am putting it off by sitting writing this. I hate packing; it’s always stressful trying to make sure you don’t forget anything. One time ‘somebody’ forgot to bring Ari’s food with us. We didn’t arrive until late on a Saturday in the middle of nowhere when we realised he would be going without dinner. Luckily I had a stash of treats and the lovely people we were staying with gave us a bowlful of food. Thankfully on this occasion he wasn’t too fussy and wolfed it down. We then had to head out first thing in the morning desperately searching Cornwall for somewhere to find dog food on a Sunday at the crack of dawn. To avoid having a repeat of this I now pack all of Ari’s things and have a checklist on my phone to double check.
Thankfully we have never forgotten the dog!
